Won the battle still at war.
Gun grabbing busybody Senator Dianne Feinstein has lost her bid to get her controversial assault weapons ban to be a part of the upcoming gun control bill. Senator Harry Reid has decided that the Feinstein bill banning over 100 different kids of weapons now legal, will not go forward as it stands now. However, Sen. Feinstein said she will still offer her ban on so called "assault weapons" as an amendment to up coming legislation. Even though Feinstein said she is offering her unconstitutional bill as an amendment, it would need 60 votes to be added to any bill which is highly unlikely since there are only 53 seats held by Democrats and there are probably a few members of Feinstein's party that would never vote for such draconian legislation. Just because the Feinstein bill is now for all practical purposes off the table, it does not mean 2nd Amendment advocates should rest. Many states, cities and other municipalities are emboldened by the recent spates of mass shootings especially in Newtown Connecticut and Aurora Colorado. There are several politicians who would like to ban guns outright and those who say "no one want's to take away your guns" simply have no idea of the fight we are really in. There are in fact, plenty of efforts underway or proposed that would take away guns and the right to own them. The assault weapons ban was the most controversial of the major proposals to restrict guns that have been advanced by Obama and Senate Democrats. Because of that, it had been expected that the assault weapons measure would be left out of the initial package the Senate considers, with Democrats hoping the Senate could therefore amass the strongest possible vote for the overall legislation. Having a separate vote on assault weapons might free moderate Democratic senators facing re-election next year in Republican-leaning states to vote against the assault weapons measure, but then support the remaining overall package of gun curbs. Gun control supporters consider a strong Senate vote important because the Republican-run House has shown little enthusiasm for most of Obama’s proposals. Feinstein said Reid told her there will be two votes. One would be on her assault weapons ban, which also includes a ban on ammunition magazines that carry more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The second would just be on prohibiting the high-capacity magazine clips. Many Democrats think the ban on large-capacity magazines has a better chance of getting 60 votes than the assault weapons ban. The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved four gun control measures this month, including Feinstein’s barring so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines. The others would expand required federal background checks for firearms buyers, increase federal penalties for illegal gun trafficking and boost school safety money.

Im still leery, they may have dropped the bill for now, but it can be amended onto another bill that will for sure pass... Colorado governor is signing legislature today to pass laws concerning mags greater than 15rds and extended background checks in the state, Magpul is also pulling up roots....

Be aware that the U.N. gun treaty is going on as we speak and will be way worse than what was just shot down. We are in very scary times.
