I am going to disagree with you on that one. I have served for 25 years, and am still serving. I have three combat tours, and have fought in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Our soldiers have not died in vain.

Let us not forget that it was an attack on our own soil that led to the war on terror. This was not the first attack, and was one of many attacks against the U.S. and our interests. The attacks on 9-11 led to our invasion of Afghanistan, and latter we invaded Iraq. Stating that George Bush and his VP got rich by the invasion is a falsehood.

Let us not forget that Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, leading to the first Gulf War. He also used WMDs against Iran, and against his own Kurdish population, initiated a nuclear program (that the Israelis bombed), and thumbed his nose to UN sanctions and inspections, prior to our second invasion. Let us also not forget that he moved some of his fighter jets to Iran prior to the invasion, and there is still a likely probability that WMDs got moved to either Iran or Syria.

Let us also remember that it was during the last election, that Obama declared Afghanistan to be the "just war" and the right war, at the right time. When his top general called for a surge, Obama cut it by 10 thousand, and tied the surge to time, and not to victory. Basically, he winked to the enemy, and let them know they only had to lay low for one year, and our surge would end. Let us also remember that 2/3rds of deaths in Afghanistan have happened on Obama's watch. The day after the attack (knowing it was a terrorist attack), Obama flew of to Vegas to campaign.

Obama has only attended 38% of the National Security meetings in the last four years. Bush went to all of them. Obama has attended the least amount of any president in our history. When the attack happened on our embassy in Libya, Obama blamed it on a YouTube video, and continued blaming the youtube video (when he knew it was a lie) in his UN speech. Just recently, his administration has admitted to the attack being a terrorist attack. In the debate last night, Obama out and out lied to the American people, when he claimed he called it a terrorist attack in his Rose garden speech. He used the words "terrorist attack" in that speech, but he was not speaking of the current attack in Libya.

Last of all, let us not forget, it was Obama that declared his run for the US senate in the house of a known terrorist that blew up bombs in our subways, hoping to spark a revolution that would bring in communism and kill millions of American capitalists. The president also called the killing of 13 US soldiers and wounding of 33 more by MAJ Nadal Hassan an act of workplace violence, and not a terrorist attack, even when he knew that Hassan had ties to al-quide and was yelling alahu akbar while killing our soldiers.

You would do well to lay of watching MSNBC, and embrace reality. Your current president is a Marxist, wants to take away guns, end capitalism, and put America in her place (just like his dad wanted).

The common thread that holds us together, is that we are knuckle heads that run around in swamps, mud flats, shallow creeks in funky looking semi-homemade flat bottom boats with jerry rigged lawn mower engines, all the while hunting gators, various ducks, or fishing. We aint exactly a crowd know for Harvard educations (except for Dguidry, and he aint smart enough to be able to pour piss from a boot) and high dollar debating skills. Some of us try to keep it clean, but others are not shy about dropping F-bombs, and making reference to sand in certain orifices of the human anatomy. Keep thick skin, and don't let it bother you, and just remember the company you are in. If you disagree, make your point or counter point, and back it up with facts, history, statistics, logic, and critical thinking. There are plenty of folks (me included) that will be glad to do some verbal sparring, and hook and jab with you if we disagree.

Why is it that you debate? Remember, the person you are debating with, is not the only one reading your comments. There are fence sitters out there that read, and never comment. If you can package your comments with truth, facts, but keep it civil, you may not only change the mind of the person you are debating, but also may influence folks who you did not even realize were reading what you write.

I want to cover a point that coincides with our earlier discussions. I believe an American can disagree with the politics or reasons our politicians send our troops to war, and not be disrespectful or non supportive to our soldiers.

If an American believes that Bush got us into Iraq for no other reason than for oil, then they are in their right to believe that, and I do not consider them to be unpatriotic.

We kind of dumped (as a nation) on our Vietnam vets, and sometimes I feel the pendulum swung too far the other direction, and we feel that we have to jump on the whole patriotic band wagon. If you do not agree with war, then by all means let your voice and your vote be heard.

I will also say that no one on here or anywhere owes me so much of an ounce of gratitude or thanks for my military service. I am thankful when told thanks, but I do not feel I deserve it. I volunteered to serve, and feel it a privilege. I also get paid well for what I do. It is my occupation of choice, just like the policeman, the fireman, the construction worker, the commercial fisherman, and even the attorney.
