Saw that before, right on!

The sad thing is seeing all these occupy folks out there and they don't even have a clear mission (or a clue). They must be being led by some pretty ignorant folks and these dumb asses are following along. They can't by any stretch compare themselves to the anti war protests of the 60's nor the civil rights protests because those folks knew what they were protesting for and the reasons were good ones.

These cats have no clue what they want. They need to protest Washington if they want to protest something. They hate capitalism but yet I bet most of them have iPhones etc. Hypocrits they are and maybe they're too stupid to realize it.

They hate the rich. Let's take a look at this way. Every few months I shoot photos and video of mega yachts being launched. These things range from 198' to 242' and cost $68 to $100+ million. The shipyard vice president and I were talking politics and got on the subject of people hating the rich etc. I told him that the yacht we were launching costs $68 million. Let's look at that $68 million, the shipyard has probably over 400 workers that all got a piece of the $68 million pie, also the engine & paint manufactures, aluminum suppliers, etc, etc, etc. That $68 million got spread out far and wide and helped a lot of folks. Some may look at that as greed, but I look at THAT, . . . as spreading the wealth.

Our founding fathers that shaped this country would be so ashamed of what America has become, a nation where you are punished for success and rewarded for failure. We have become a nation of the lazy, but yet in the realization of things we are still the richest on earth. Take your poorest person in America and they would still be rich compared to some in third world countries. I once met a man from South Africa and he told me that there was no welfare there, you work or you starve. Pretty much summed it up.

The occupy folks? If this is the bright young future of our country, . . . .we are in serious trouble.

I gotta friend in the machine shop at halliburton, he works 70-80 hrs a week and makes 6 figures. whats this crap about work less hours for more pay? I want my company to pay me everything in cash, I can get my own insurance and take care of myself. Do you think these hedge fund managers or ceo types that are complained about work a 40 hour work week? What I would recomend is that everyone out there bitching, start a company, lawn mowing equipment dosent cost that much. Then see what you can afford to pay your employees. Give them all the benefiets you are demanding etc..... Lets see if you are even competitive enough to land a single lawn service job. All I see is a bunch of idiots. I understand being pissed at our government for making us pay for the bailout of these big companies but the companies are not at total fault. The government regulates the big banks and they had no choice but to participate in TARP. The government forced it on them. And now we are finding out about all these secret loans. These occupiers should be in front of the legislateur and whitehouse. They should be demanding investigations by the judiciary. But no, they blame the people they percieve as rich. Most of the people who work on wallstreet are not rich.

I saw an interview w/ one of the occupiers last night. He said he was pissed at how we helped bail out Bank of America and they paid 0 in federal income taxes last year.

Jesus Christ

We should be blaming the parents of these idiots because clearly they haven't been taught a thing about values like work for what you have etc.

I can only hope that this is not a true representation of the youth of America.

And yes, that girl had the munchies LOL

And did you hear the one bitch say things should fall, and the country needs to go back to the hunting/gathering days?

Could you fukking imagine 300 million people having to hunt for food? You could hang it up, there isn't even that kind of resources left in the wild America.

It is scary that they are voters. Full proof why there should be a voter competency test at the polls before they even give you a card.

I guess what scares me the most is that now i have 1 year old baby girl and i am terrified for her generation as i am for mine. This country seems to keep circling the drain due to poor leadership.

Those interviewed above are by no means our future generation in this country IMHO, i beleive that they are plentiful, but, are outnumbered by those with reason and logic. I dont find the occupy wallstreet movement to have much validity, simply a temporary media frenzy.

As this post has shown most of us are on the same page with this and many more issues we face. Somethings got to change and that change starts next November.

dgalmo, glad we are on the same page.

The way I would fix this whole issue, and this is just a start.
1. Donations for campaigns can only come from people. Not corporations or special interest groups . If you need money, use your own, you wanted to run for office. You "SHOULD" be able to run and win on your morals and agenda.

2. Set term limits for all elected offices. Some states already have this, others don't. This would get rid of career politicians lining their pockets.

3. Lower their pay. Most politicians are business people or already have money. They don't need to make 6 figures, when everything they do is already paid for. A median income is enough.

I have many more ideas, but that is all they will ever be. I could never be a politician. I wouldn't be liked by many people.

Oh I agree!

And we need another amendment that specifically limits any new Bills to one issue only. No more 500-1500 page bills that have BS amendments that have nothing to do with the original issue.

My dad always said that for in Congress whether state or federal should be put in dorms and bused to work. Two people to a dorm room. Meals in a cafeteria and go home when not in session. He also thought they should only be issued mattress and fan for room. And every week the people they represent had the right to take the mattress away.

I think one term and then your done period or maybe go with a "draft/jury duty" type setup. If you pay taxes and can pass a drug test your name is in the pot.
