Post Biden - First Acts
Biden - promised no new taxes on those making under 400K per year

However - I expect him to take advantage of the current high mortality rates
and impose new federal taxes on Inheritance.

Currently only estates with values over 11 million are taxable - that is about to change
even for a surviving spouse.

From IRS code - current regulations....

After the net amount is computed, the value of lifetime taxable gifts (beginning with gifts made in 1977) is added to this number and the tax is computed. The tax is then reduced by the available unified credit.

Most relatively simple estates (cash, publicly traded securities, small amounts of other easily valued assets, and no special deductions or elections, or jointly held property) do not require the filing of an estate tax return. A filing is required for estates with combined gross assets and prior taxable gifts exceeding $1,500,000 in 2004 - 2005; $2,000,000 in 2006 - 2008; $3,500,000 for decedents dying in 2009; and $5,000,000 or more for decedent's dying in 2010 and 2011 (note: there are special rules for decedents dying in 2010); $5,120,000 in 2012, $5,250,000 in 2013, $5,340,000 in 2014, $5,430,000 in 2015, $5,450,000 in 2016, $5,490,000 in 2017, $11,180,000 in 2018, $11,400,000 in 2019, $11,580,000 in 2020, and $11,700,000 in 2021.

FYI - Democrats are also going to block the inheritance of firearms in the very near future...

Current Federal Law says...

If you are inheriting a firearm from a person in another state, the normal interstate transfer rules do not apply. The executor of the will can transfer the firearm to you without going through an FFL. This also applies to interstate inheritance. The only issue is that the receiver (you) must lawfully be able to possess a firearm in your state of residence. If you are ineligible to possess a firearm, the executor cannot transfer the firearm to you.

However California and other States are pushing for major changes in the very near future
and New VP Harris has promised to do so - on day one.

Also - you may only have about 10 days to purchase online before that is banned...

From the Biden website - https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/

End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions.

Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.

According to their official website - https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/

They also plan to move aggressively on HR3285 - "The Handgun Purchaser Licensing Act"

An Act which requires photos fingerprints and re-licensing every 5 years

At a news conference on January 7th, President-elect Joe Biden announced he will nominate U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Judge Merrick Garland for Attorney General. Biden’s choice of a noted Second Amendment opponent to lead the Department of Justice is an overt assault on gun rights and gun owners.

Following the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in February 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Garland as Justice Scalia’s replacement. With an understanding of Garland’s unacceptable jurisprudence, NRA strongly opposed Garland’s nomination and the Senate wisely chose not to consider the nomination.

Garland’s anti-Second Amendment position is clear from his record. Garland does not believe the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms. On March 9, 2007, a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia issued a ruling in Parker v. District of Columbia, the precursor to Heller v. District of Columbia. The opinion struck down the District of Columbia’s complete ban on the civilian ownership of handguns and recognized that the Second Amendment protects an individual right. Expressing disapproval of the panel’s ruling, Garland voted to rehear the case.

Moreover, Garland has worked to undermine a federal statute meant to protect gun owners from firearms registration. In the 2000 case NRA v. Reno, NRA sued to stop the Department of Justice from retaining successful National Instant Criminal Backgrounds Check System (NICS) transaction records in what the agency termed an “audit log.” In relation to NICS, federal law (18 U.S.C. 922(t)(2)(c)) requires the government to “destroy all records of the system with respect to the call (other than the identifying number and the date the number was assigned) and all records of the system relating to the person or the transfer.” In a three-judge panel, Garland joined a colleague to uphold this Department of Justice practice, imperiling the privacy of gun owners.

Actually it looks like they will be busy impeaching Trump, even though he will be out of office, they will still be working on impeachment. Man, what a waste of time and money. SMH

”The Great Communicator” – Ronald Reagan was the first President to be sworn
into office on the Capital Steps in 1981 to a jubilant crowd of onlookers. Joe Biden
will be the first President sworn into office on those same steps in 2021 under
near Martial Law to an audience of 20,000 Soliders with M4 rifles.

Just as on Jan 6th when an angry crowd of protesters broke thru Capital Security
and into the Capital itself to vandalize offices. The Capital Police Chief unlike normal
Police Chiefs does not answer to a Mayor he/she answers to a 3 member Board who
consists of three voting members: the Sergeant at Arms of the United States House
of Representatives, the Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate, and the Architect
of the Capitol.

At noon Jan 20th the US will have a new President - Joe Biden.

I look forward to seeing what his first acts will actually turn out to be !

Every Democrat President has taken swift action against Texas and
Louisiana which are historically Republican southern states...

Biden will be no different it seems...

U.S. president-elect Joe Biden has indicated plans to cancel the
Keystone XL pipeline permit via executive action on his first day
in office, sources confirmed to CBC News on Sunday.

A Nationwide halt on oil and all mining --- even lithium mining --- also taking away thousands of jobs...

BILLINGS, Mont. — The Biden administration announced Thursday the suspension of new oil and gas leasing and drilling permits for U.S. lands and waters for 60 days as part a broad review of programs at the Department of Interior.

The move follows President Joe Biden’s campaign pledge to halt new drilling on federal lands and end the leasing of publicly owned energy reserves as part of his plan to address climate change.

The suspension went into effect immediately under an order signed Wednesday by Acting Interior Secretary Scott de la Vega. The order did not limit existing oil and gas operations under valid leases, meaning oil and gas activity won’t come to a sudden halt on the millions of acres of lands in the West and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico where much drilling is concentrated.

The order also blocks the approval of new mining plans, land sales or exchanges and the hiring of senior-level staff at the agency.

Louisiana lawmakers voice disapproval... Wonder what they will say when they find out
Biden stopped drilling in the Gulf of Mexico too...

“I’m going to combat climate change in a way that we haven’t done so far,” said Biden.

However, Louisiana lawmakers do not agree with the president’s decision.

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy and Congressman Clay Higgins were very vocal about their disagreement with the president.

Cassidy was referring to his decision on the XL Keystone pipeline “killing a project in which thousands are employed” and Higgins said Biden’s decision will “further injure the economy.”

Post Re: Biden - First Acts
When U.S. Catholic bishops hold their next national meeting in June, they’ll be deciding whether to send a tougher-than-ever message to President Joe Biden and other Catholic politicians: Don’t receive Communion if you persist in public advocacy of abortion rights.

At issue is a document that will be prepared for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops by its Committee on Doctrine, with the aim of clarifying the church’s stance on an issue that has repeatedly vexed the bishops in recent decades. It’s taken on new urgency now, in the eyes of many bishops, because Biden — only the second Catholic president — is the first to hold that office while espousing clear-cut support for abortion rights.

Such a stance, by a public figure, is “a grave moral evil,” according to Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, who chairs the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities and believes it’s necessary to publicly rebuke Biden on the issue.

“Because President Biden is Catholic, it presents a unique problem for us,” Naumann told The Associated Press. “It can create confusion. ... How can he say he’s a devout Catholic and he’s doing these things that are contrary to the church’s teaching?”
