Took my oldest(3 years old) to the swamp weekend before last with a friend and his boy. Let them run around some campsites and cooked lunch. They had a blast. He doesnt listen too well yet, so I keep his lifejacket on even when he's out of the boat. Took him home tired, wet,muddy, and sunburned( got cussed out for that), but he had a blast. He told me not to take his boat out without him. Hopefully he is hooked. |

women read too many books. They see one study that says if you get sunburned when you are little you increase your cancer risk by x times. Hell, I was cooked to a crisp all summer when i was a kid and no worse for wear. We have to protect our kids, but we cant baby or shelter them from reality. I just dont want my kids to grow up sitting in front of the tv or the computer every weekend. Too many lazy, fat kids with no morals growing up these days. The outdoors can teach us all quite a few lessons. |
