Maybe so, were both from stephensville. I've built Plenty of skiffs this was actually my first bateaux and it came out very good IMO so I'm thinking about building another one just like it and posting it on here. Hopefully someone will buy it then I could become a spOnser and that good stuff. Thanks for the input that's what I need to hear.

Garrett:

Great looking boat. I noticed the chair in one of your pictures. You know what that chair is called? Its called the "Crying Chair". That's where you sit and cry after you've spent 2 hours welding some stuff together when you realize you should have welded the stuff together the right way instead. Now, I don't weld but the same principal applies to building wooden boats.

Deucechunker:

Your logic reminds be of Boudreaux's. He was once asked to climb on top of Thibodeaux's shoulders and walk on the flashlight beam Thibodeaux was shinning to the other side of a bayou so Boudreaux could get to the other side. Boudreaux replied that he was not that stupid, because he was smart enough to know that Thibodeaux was conniving and surely would turn off his flashlight just as he had gotten half way.

And, by the way, that's a damn good looking hull Garrett. It looks a lot like the one Rickey Aucoin built for Shafer.

For you boys that make boats, does a longer rake help out when running choppy water all the time?

I cross rough water quite often to get places, and it's a beating with my boat, but it's a pretty stubby rake in comparison to that boat.

that is the best looking new build I've seen on here since Aucoin stopped. Something is just "right" about the lines.
