I'm running Royal Purple 5w30. Concerned that it might be too light for our Louisiana temps. |

People had problems in the past with modded motors running royal purple. It's hard to say it was from the oil or not though Amsoil z rod is what a lot of people are using with success on nodded motors. So if u want a high performance oil I would suggest Amsoil. |

not sure if its good or bad but I run shell rotella SAE 30 in all my air cooled engines; mud motor, lawn mower, and my generator. |

I use AMSOIL in everything. Just dumped the oil in my Civic after 15k and it wasn't even black. |

OP, no harm in bumping up to 10w-30 during the hot months. |

It’s 2 ½ quarts Mcscrooge – not going to break anyone’s bank roll |

$27.50 versus $10.00 per oil change, that leaves enough for a 12 pack and a bag of beef jerky. |

Does anyone use the Valvoline VR1 conventional? I've been using it for 120 hours now. |
