Post Need Help!!
I will be buying a mud motor in a few weeks. Looking to spend about 6000 and want to buy new I have a war eagle 848. I am looking for about 35 hp and have been looking at the 2010 PD36. I wanted to get away from belt drives is this a good idea and want to know what you think or the Pro drive lower units. also would like to see what you would get.

Thanks for reading

no matter which one u buy... out the door brand new.. your gonna write a check for between 6800-7200.. thats motor, tax, & title ;)

Go devil may be a little cheaper but they dont have reverse or a clutch for neutral..

I am looking at the base PD it will be 5901 with tax. I don't think I will need the reverse but may add it later down the road, but my concern is this if you break a belt on what i have now a mud buddy it sucks but only costs 125 bucks to replace my concern is how much more durable is the pro drive lower unit.

They are both good motors. I personally run a prodrive and am happy with it. Yeah it sux if you break a belt, but it doesn't happen very often. And if it does, its a 125 dollar fix. You tear up a pd lower unit, your looking at a lot more expensive fix. As far as I know the new lower unit they are using is a lot better than the old. We have updated both of ours, and no problems as of yet.

Broke one on a boulder in the river. Still ran about 10 hours or so before it was completely gone. If we'd known it was forked up as bad as it was we may have been able to fix it. Had another that had an issue with the seals. The new style is supposed to have fixed that problem. Some have added an extra seal to the old ones with good luck also.

Don't get a GD. Had one, now have a GTR. The neutral is more valuable than the reverse.
