Post Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating
I bought some Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating from lowes and was planning to coat the bottom of my boat. Not from the inside but the underside. Just incase there are pinholes the posibility of a leaking rivet (haven't had one leaking yet).
Should I do this? Will it do any good?

I plan to use a short nap roller that way it doesn't texture too much. 1 thin coat is all I want to put on.

Thanks

I would not put that on the bottom of your boat... especially for that reason.... It is too rough... and will create a lot of drag on the bottom of your boat...

I would go with coat-it or something else like that (steelflex or frogspit)

just my .02

Thanks guys. I was wondering if it would be too rough or rubbery. I'll be looking at the other products.

I sprayed the floor of my boat with that stuff and so far so good. It isn't nearly as rough as spray in bedliner more like sand paper. The bottom of the boat was done with steel flex which is absolutely awesome.

What is the best place to get steelflex or frogspit?

Use the search feature. Steelflex you get from fasco epoxies, which has been posted more than once. Frogspit can be had from I think its floral city airboats. Either way, both are on this site already numerous times...

Just to let you know, a slightly rough texture like rhino will actually be a faster bottom than a smooth slick surface.

May not be ideal for sliding over stuff, but it won't create drag.
