 Twin 10's to heavy for a 12-14ft?
As you can see I am new to the board (been lurking as a guest for sometime now). I have come up two Honda 10HP horizontal shaft engine that I think would be great for making a twin mud motor setup. So I have to ask before I get started on the project, will two 10HP engines be too heavy for a 12-14 ft boat preferably 36" - 48" wide?
Also, I have seen some "do it yourself" instructions for mud motors on ebay, anyone know of a good resource before I get started? I currently work for a manufacturing company that has the ablilty to laser cut steel, powder coat and do just about any kind of machining or bending that would be needed to complete the project. Thanks for any information.

Not sure why you would want to do that but it would be heavy and you may not get duals on that narrow of a transom anyway. I go with a larger single like a 23. One of the better midsize motors put there.

1 10 will push a 12 or 14 light boat ok.
how about 2 10s on a single shaft? you could run a cogged pully system, even reduce it a little.
thay gives me a thought..............
