S_R: i wash mine with Salt Away & fresh water, let dry, den spray de entire thing wit WD-40 & wipe off excess wit a rag after each use. You can pick up dat Salt Away @ Acedemy or West Marine. Also, pick up some di-electric grease & grease all de electrical terminals / connections throughout u'r motor.

 Re: Salt water on prodrive
coondick gave you some really good advice, down here saltwater will tear anything up if u let it. as stated above i would rinse the motor when finished and grease all of your connections.

 Re: Salt water on prodrive
all i ever run is salt. if you religiously rinse down your motor after every run, wd your electric, and grease at recommended intervials you wont have a problem. I have a 3-4 yr old gdlt thats in great condition and all it's ever seen was salt.

I don't run salt a lot, but when I do I douse everything in Corrosion X in the red can and then rinse with fresh water when I'm done. Haven't had a problem.
