I lost my old hardhat light this weekend. I bought it probably 10 years ago from hardhatlight.com. The website no longer exists so I'm looking for a place to buy a new one. I really liked my old one so I want one similar, although they are all probably the same. So far these are the places I have found that sell them: Aucoin's Hardware-hatlightstore.com ($70), Prodrive ($85) & Godevil ($85).

The GD one looks almost identical to my old one but the PD one looks pretty cool. Mine had the switch on top towards the back like GD & PD but the Aucion one has the switch on the side towards the front. Does anyone have a preference for a certain light or should I just buy the cheapest one I can find cause I'll probably drop this one in the water too? Also, will Godevil even sell me the light without owning a GD? I used to own one and I'm not sure if the name it was under has ever been changed in their system. I assume it wouldn't be a problem since I'm not buying motor parts to make my own longtail.

Build your own I think it cost me about 40 dollars in parts and only a couple hours to put together. Got a waterproof bulb from tsc(actually got everything but the hard hat from there) and it works great plenty of light. When I get home in a couple of days I'll post a pic of it

mine is waterproof and it is mounted to a hard hat which benefits me a lot. i tend to bump my head. i'm not that bright

I will never go without a hard hat light they are the best but there are times when toting a car battery around is impractical. When pushing my pirogue at night I have found this light to be the best. http://www.crownledlights.com/index.html It gives off a good beam that lasts forever. I'm always skeptical of companys that say thier light will last XX many hours but since this one has LEDs it really does last I have tested it. It was designed by a local guy who was wanting a light that doesnt weigh a ton but yet can be used to light up the waterway in front of you. He suceeded and the price is very reasonable.
