 what size winch to use??? I have a 1442 with bowfish deck , 2 large batteries, trolling motor, and 16hp LT. will a 2000lb winch be enough to pull me thru rocky shallows? we usually do it with 2 people and a rope. I have the uhmv plastic on the bottom so its pretty slick.

what size winch to use??? Should work fine. I have a 1644 and bought a 3000# Promark, formerly Gorilla, w/50' synthetic cable for $150 on eBay. Quite a few people here use them. Check em out.

Re: what size winch to use??? should be plenty for that rig. My 2500# Runva pulls the 18x48 uncle j w 35GTR just fine. even through sand.

Re: what size winch to use??? awesome. thanks guys. I think im going to get the badlands hb for $50.00 if it serves the purpose well, i'll upgrade later. Its got to where if you want the big fish you got to go where no one else can. A long tail has served that purpose for years now, but gotta get thru the rock gardens and super shallows to get to the honey holes now.

what size winch to use??? The synthetic cable is nice, you will hate a winch when you get a wire in your hand!!!

Re: what size winch to use??? If you want the synthetic cable, look at the promark winches that come already spooled with it.

what size winch to use??? I broke my synthetic and replaced it with aircraft cable that most winches use.
