I have a teleflex Single function lever on my console, and no matter how tight I adjust the tension screw, the lever will loose tension when riding full throttle in any chop. Does anybody have a better control unit that they are using for these engines? Pro Drive rigged it, so the cable is the standard Pro Drive Telelfex cable. I am open to ideas. I did find a teleflex NB model that has a twist lock to prevent the "Creep". But it is only sold internationally...New Zealand I think the site was located!

My gt factory built does it also from day one. I just assumed that it was normal

It's not the cable, it's the control. It's a knock off morse, take a die grinder or dremmel and carve where the screw rides on the side to give it something to bite on to

Been dealing with these controls a while and it fixes the cheap ones every time

I am not sure what style I have. I bought everything rigged from GT. Mine does not have the friction screw on the side of the lever.

I took a hose clamp and put it on the control line right at the top of the plastic and tigthened it enough to still work the throttle, but it doesn't creep any more. This is an easy fix until you can find a better replacement.

I was looking in the Morse SL3 (I think) top mount, so I could have my trim on the throttle, I jerry rigged a yamaha trim switch to my controls nob, and it makes all the difference in the world.

Any controls will work, morse is quality shit but if u come across outboard controls with a switch on eBay cheaper than a new morse grab it

My GTR is prob a couple weeks old and does the same thing sucks. I would gladly spend the money on a new one if I new it would stay.

I received my new Morse control lever today, and I just finished installing it. The Morse is definitely a better quality unit, and is much easier to adjust. Does it work...I don't know yet. When I installed this lever though, I changed the throw; meaning I now pull the lever down to accelerate. My thnking is that in chop which drives the lever down, this action would now be driving the lever towards full throttle, and therefore eliminating the creeping problem.

Before you spend the cash on a new lever I would give this a shot, because I think this might have worked with my other lever...

A velcro strap works great for me on long runs!

I took a velcro strap and riveted to top of console right in front of control and go around lever and back to itself!Works good!

Just as an update...the new lever works great...it does take a little get used to when you reverse the direction of the throttle!

First run in two foot rolls last week... The throttle never budged! I highly recommend making the switch, and reversing the throw on the throttle!

Hey guys a buddy and I figured out what was going on with the throttle this weekend we took it apart and when u puppy the handle out there is a set screw on the underside well apparently when they install them the don't have the set screw in the hole cause it don't line up so we drilled the hole out on the shaft of the lever out a lol bit to the screw would taper its self in the hole. Then unscrew the screw that is supposed to tighten down the lever a the way and put it back together so that the set screw on the bottom goes in the hole put a lot of locktite on it and screw it down the u are ready to put the outer screw in and locktite it too and tighten to where u like it. And should work like a charm and not in screw or move. I will try to post pick of the screws later cause we didn't think about taking pictures while fixing it. Dumbass move I know. But we got it working and have t had a prob since guys easy fix too
