 Checklist
My '10 GT will be coming home tomorrow after a long and anxious ordeal of getting it right. While I've been impatiently waiting for all the repairs to be done, I've been here.....reading mostly, and have learned a great deal from all the topics posted. I have, however, come to the conclusion that there are a vast number of issues that one needs to be abreast of to insure your surface drive unit (regardless of make or model) stays in good operating order. Having limited experience with a long tail, and even less with a SD, I am wondering if you old hands could offer some suggestions in the way of the things you look for before and after every outing to keep your motors in good running condition....a checklist if you will. Your experience and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 Re: Checklist
Best advise I can give.....fresh water rinse followed by a good dousing of WD40 after saltwater exposure. Thorough check of all bolting hardware for tightness. More WD40. Perform your routine maintenance per engine and motor manufacturer guidelines. Replace anything that looks like it's starting to wear.
Most liberals seem to suffer from the same mental condition....it's called stupidity!

^^ x2, and don't rawhide your shit. Some folks on here could care less if it blows, while others wash and wax. If you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you. Remember when its all said and done, it a f'n lawnmower engine strapped to some metal.

 Re: Checklist
I'm no longer a speed merchant. I've been 82mph on the water and finally got it out of my system after 20 years fishing bass tournaments and 4 years as a Regional Director for two different nation trails. I'm just looking for a dependable, stable vehicle. The pull of the trigger and swing of the rod is what gets my blood lfowing! I dont need to jump levies or beaver dams either! Did I just say that!!!!????
