 Winterizing Your Motor
How do you all put your motor away when done for the year.
I run the gas out of it, disconnect the fuel line from the motor, empty the gas tank into the truck in spring, remove the plugs and spray some WD40 into the cylinder, turn the key so I barley cycle the piston for lubrication.
Is this how you do it or am I missing anything?
Thanks,

If you have a performance carb make sure you drain the float bowl.

 Re: Winterizing Your Motor
Just for a reference wd40 isn't really a lubricant.. Marvel Mystery oil or something similar would do better. Just take spark plugs out spray a little and let it sit overnight and turn it over in the morning.

Thanks, Stock Carb. I always wondered if WD40 was the thing to use.

 Re: Winterizing Your Motor
You have done the most important step which is to run it out of fuel. I also like to change the oil and filter before I run it out of fuel.
