Motor Cuts off ( Fuel Line?)
I have a 36PD (2006)..went to a longer boat this year ( 1854 Phowler from a 1652 FF). problem is my motor cuts off and i have to pump bulb up. It will run for several minutes and cut off again. I'll pump it up and it may run for an hour and cut off again. Can not detect any air leaks in fuel line but my Fuel filter shows very little gas when I'm running WFO. Didn't have problem with 16' but 18' I do some.....is there some type of fuel pump I need or any thoughts ? thanks

Re: Motor Cuts off ( Fuel Line?)
Swamprooter- Are you using the quick connect type attachment at the tank? If so, get rid of it and go to the barbed nipple type attachment that you slide the fuel hose onto and clamp with hose clamp of appropriate size. If you already have the nipple connectors at both ends it has to be the fuel line or the gas tank. Is your vent cap loose? I would just go to Auto Zone and buy a 25' roll of 1/4" Goodyear rubber fuel line and put a new one in. There may be a pin hole leak somewhere that takes a little time to bleed down. This is the method I have used on both boats and currently use on my Phowler 1848. It took pretty much the entire roll to run the length of the boat going down left side of boat in the gutter and under left rear pod and up to motor so don't cut a particular length until you are finished running it into place. I had to use a bolt threaded into end of fuel line with some lightweight decoy line tied to the bolt, push it as far back under the pod by hand as I could and then use my shop vac to suck the string into the bildge area to pull fuel line through. It took some serious patience but I have never had a fuel delivery issue. Matter of fact, the only time I have ever had to pump the bulb was after the initial installation of the fuel line. I just insert key, pull choke, turn key and twist throttle and it runs. Give it a try, I think the fuel line is your problem. If that doesn't do it then the fuel pump may be going out on your motor. For that Call PD.
