Post Re: Led light bars
I just received my single D2 (all i could afford right now). The thing seems rock solid but I haven't turned it on yet. I will say it is much smaller than I thought it was going to be. I guess I didn't pay attention to the dimensions before I bought it. But none the less I'm pleased so far!

I installed the ONE Dually D2 on the front of my boat and this is the before and after picture
Before w/iphone flash

After, didn't need a flash

That house is about 60 yards away. This light is going to meet my needs because I don't really need to light up the world, just see where I am going on those dark mornings in the marsh.

I think y'all just made up my mine. I think I'll go with the single lights over the light bar.

Is that the spot, flood or diffuser?

That is the spot. I will say that if the light doesn't have anything to reflect off of then it isn't so great. I went teal hunting the other morning and we were running down the intercostal waterway and there was no shore so the light was almost useless and I had to pull my headlamp out. When we got into the canals and it could reflect off the shores I was able to use it again. I hope this helps.

Do you have to run a hand held light, or can you get by with just the led's?

Yeah, it takes ALOT of light for open water, this is why I added the spot to help hit the channel markers way out. The object it to have something to run with, it's not a search light LOL

Very bright. The amber lens covers are bright also. I think they will do great in the fog. They are not lighting it up like the white light, but I can tell you they still shine very bright and a good distance. (and you can still see the natives' eyes at night with amber light :)

Found these guys today on another forum.
Not sure if the quality is there, but the prices look good.

The guy is in League City Texas (where I live) I'm going to check them out in person in the next few weeks. (I'm looking at the 12" bar)

Side note, add $25 to each price. RI's lights come with all the wiring harness, fuses, switches, etc...

I'd like to see them side by side for sure but the RI spot is only $20 more with 20,000 more hours warranty.

Comparing them to the Rigid's their perfromance is about the price difference lower. Just cause they look kinda the same don't mean they gonna shine as good.

Update: I actually sent my D2 driving light back today. It really wasn't getting out there and touching what I needed while running the Intercoastal waterway. I almost ran ashore the other morning and had to turn it off and pull out my headlamp. They took it back without issue and I am going to get the 10"combo E series at their suggestions.

I tried the lights on the front but it just didn't work for me. Regardless how much light was in front of me I always ended up picking up a light or putting my hh on so I could see to the rear or side. Finally said the hell with em. I run my hh with a hand held close by for just in case. Those are good looking lights though and put out really good. Just don't think it would be for me.... Kinda like my old girlfriend

Just go in the E-Series 6" Combo for my boat. Hooked it up last night in the garage to shine around and was impressed. Will post up pics and a review once I get it on.

If anyone is interested in a 10" e series Rigid Industries light bar, check out amazon. I just bought the combo spot/ flood for $308. They sell for $399 on rigid's site.

barnes - order the 10" e and do a side by side comparison then resell it or send it back. Should be the same plug so just unplug one of yours, plug in the 10, and leave everything else in the box.
