Guys, some of ya know but some don't, when the case bolts get loose the sorry castings of these blocks get stressed. When you tighten the bolts its still weakened and leaking gasket allows for movement/vibration to further strain the block. REALLY REALLY critical to keep an eye on the case bolts! Just my .02$ worth, not sayin' it'll happen but I also said "I'll fix it later" and.... Notice the RTV in the pics? You win some you lose some but this sure stank. No indication of a crack either and took about 1/2 a second to make an oil slick  Not tryin' to spook anybody just a word of caution.

Don't know how well a sensor would do. Especially on a LT. The sensor would be tripping all the time due to the angles the motor goes

Oil Sentry, low oil shutdown, came standard on my 27 GDLT. Will it work correctly? I don't know. I never really payed attention to if it was in the front or back. If it's toward the front it may not due to the motor being angle back giving it a false high reading.

Depends on the system I guess. I had one of those cheap champion generators for bow fishing, it had a oil "level" sensor in it. Everytime everybody got on one side of the boat the bitch would cut off. I unplugged it

Ran my engine hard yesterday and not a leak appeared. This after tightening the two crankcase bolts near the oil filter that had loosened.

Mine was leaking at crankcase gasket at and between those two crankcase bolts near the oil filter. Oil filter not the problem.

If u leaking oil from around the oil filter, it may be a sign of a blown head gasket . That was a symptom on the last 2 head gaskets I blew.
