Re: Grab bar necessary with surface drive???
Grab bars are for girls who can't stand up without falling down.....The only thing they are good for is hold a beer.... that's it. I'll jump levees all god damn day without one of those rib breakers....and yes you will hit something and you will crash into the bar at sometime. ... If you really think you need one, where a pfd.
you drink the kool aid, id rather drink the whiskey and raise hell!!!!

I've since gone back and wrapped it with camo rope since paint wouldn't stay on it.

Re: Grab bar necessary with surface drive???
Necessary, no not absolutely necessary. However, my tiller is so low when underway, that I need the grab bar to hold onto. It also comes in handy when teaching the children how to operate the boat. I can hold onto the grab bar with one hand and the child with the other!

Re: Grab bar necessary with surface drive???
I used mine to mount the PD controls, this made adjusting trim and clutch way better... Like to have it there driving standing up running rapids...

Re: Grab bar necessary with surface drive???
Thanks I mostly use it on rocky rivers and it is so much nicer to not have to look or reach back to operate the controls. Now they are at my finger tips and no more turning/reaching around..
