Often used but not recommended. As the standard teflon tape degrades or pieces break off during installation. The fuel grade tape doesn't degrade but also breaks off & run through the fuel system & clog the needles on the carb. Couple years back I had a engine surge problem on my GD & had the mechanic broke open the carb. There was a piece of fuel grade teflon tabe about the size of a well sharpened pencil in the carb. I went home & changed out all the boats. The tape also rapidly breaks down with ethanal fuel. There are anti-seize products that work just as well or better w/o effecting the carb or fuel system. The best I found was @ a local speed shop. |

Most fuel fittings are PIPE thread. Which means they are tapered and seal by interference fit. No teflon needed! |
