does anybody have or have ran this motor? just wondering how well they perform on small boats? would a larger engine bolt to tha frame with the same mounting points!? any kind of mods for this engine??

thats a real small motor, if you are looking at a used one you could probobly buy a larger motor and bolt it on, be sure too measure it though. How small of a boat are you talking?

i have a 1448 but im looking to soon get a 14 or 15 but with a narrower bottom.

then you should be fine with a 14 as long as you arent looking to set speed records, i would try and get a 23 horse on it though.

If you want to go narrower, go 1544 or 1542 and put a 23 hp on it. The 14 will be a dog.

the guy e-mail me and he has it on a 14ft about a 36in bottom and he said it would run about 20 mph!!

why would a 15ft be better than a 14ft??
