Anyone want to show up and run this sunday. With three days of north wind the water should be very low. Meet at the ramp at 10am.

It should be good conditions for low water but it looks like the rain will not be over until Sunday afternoon. Who knows what the weather is really gonna do though. I wish I could have a job like the weathermen! Be wrong more than half the time!!

I have a fishing tournament on Toledo on Saturday or I would try to make it. Mitscke will be in town keep him posted and he can meet up with you guys!!

Maybe between now and Sunday - some enthusiast could cut the overhead blockages into Miller - so that those with poling platforms can get in...

Heard it was pretty jammed up and hard to get under...

Sounds like fun. I might show up for awhile. I cut the path into Miller right after Ike, but there is some low trees to go under so the platforms might not make it. Ya'll watch them gators now, cause GigaFowl had one that wanted to crawl in the boat and have a beer the last time he was out there!

Post subject:  Re: Wallisville this weekend

Oneneo,

Hey you "crossed over" to MMT --- glad to have you here....

Thankfully that wasn't my boat that the gator was snackin on...
I would'a likely gone 9mm on his head - not poked him with a push pole
like some fellas - with more guts than sense....

Coastal,

I think Rob's close call was that he almost dinged his brand new shiny prop
and he managed not to.... Jumpin them cypress knees an all....

To you OUT OF TOWN guys,

http://www.swg.usace.army.mil/Wallis/nIntro.asp

That is a link to the project with maps, phone numbers, rules (not that you will obey them) and all the info you should need.... There is construction so if you are coming from the east (La) side get off early at 563 or 61 - then come up the feeder to the entry (on the south side of I-10) - go thru the big iron gates all the way to the end of the road - thats where the ramp is.....

I'm going out saturday afternoon on a recon, and hopefully sunday after
churchin' is over too...

robs close call was his registration was out and the possum cop showed at the ramp and his was the last boat out of the water, the gw was busy writing somebody else a ticket is the only reason he slipped by!!!!
