Congrats on the new purchase, the alweld should do fine with that motor on the back but would be alot better of with a boat built for one of these motors. The boat should hold up just fine if your not running alot of stumps. Also you dont have to yell at us we are right here

X2, Slick boats perform better in the super shallows and mud, but I run a MM on a 1648 war eagle. It works just fine in the coastal texas marshes.

I ran a 36 PD on a 15/48 Alweld for 3 years and just had some minor problems with the transom!!I think you will be going with a bigger motor before changing boats

with me and one other person boat goes just as fast as my 25 yamaha just to get on top have to have someone sitting in the front of the boat.goes through the lillies and grass with no problems at all the tide is like 3 foot above normal over here so can't find to much mud right now.

Re: NEW TO SITE 27 PRODRIVE ON ALWELD15X48
I have a 36 prodrive and I had the same problem with the filter cover. Call Peck at Prodrive and he will send you a new one. There is a tack weld on the screw running through the middle of the filter. If you bump the filter on something it can loosen this tack weld and the filter cover will fall off. Congrats on the new motor and look forward to meeting you at the LA mud run.

Also, those filter covers don't float ......at all!!!!!! You donated it to the bottom of the lake.
