On my new MB 45 it turns like a dream to the right but you realy have to fight it to turn to the left I assume that I need to bend the skeg a little bit but not shure on which way to go any opinions?

Sounds like if it is easy to turn to the startboard side, then you skeg is probably bent towards the port side. Bend it slightly in the direction of the starboard side and see what happends. One question, when you are driving straight, does it feel like it was to turn to the right (i.e. is it trying to pull the handle toward the port side of the boat)?

One other thing to check would be your weight distribution in the boat. That can always affect the way it turns one way or another.

Is your motor mounted in the center? Its best to mount it 1" to the port side and adjusting from there (may move a little either way to remove torque). Also, as stated above, imbalanced weight distribution can cause alot of tiller torque.

Bending the skeg is the last resort- not the place to start.
