 I'm building adustable pods..
If trim tabs and pods help, wouldn't adjustable pods be the ultimate solution for planing and speed issue? I am thinking of building pods adjustable like trim tabs. Think about it... No welding to your aluminum boat or I'm my case, no bolting to hull. Pod angle fluctuates depending on need. Mais, what y'all tink? Just have to beef up trim cylindar or double up per pod.

Interesting. How do they attach to the boat if they are not bolted or welded? Would they be able to hold up to the bouncing over waves at 20-30mph?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just sell da boat and buy one dat is designed for da motor?

Hinged to the transom just like trim tabs with compression cylinder to alow flexing.

 Re: I'm building adustable pods..
Any engineering types out there care to comment how I might handle lateral and torsional (twisting) forces on the pods while in motion? Also, how to handle gap between pod and transom when pod is deployed downward. Flow of water from side of hull would hit the back of the pod. I thought the solution would be an aluminum extension to the side of the transom inside of which the pod would move back and forth...sort of like a pocket. My plan is to buy large aluminum trim tabs with the hinge attachment and fashion the pod to them, altering the tab where needed to conform to the pod shape. My research indicates I have to be cognizant of the turbulence created by the pods in relation to the prop and skeg. Mais, what ya'll tink?
