Most everyone here has at one point had a mm on a regular jon boat. Yes it will work, yes it will eventually tear up the boat, no it will not perform as well as a mud boat hull.
If ya really considerin it, find somebody that has a mm and go run it with em.
When ya decide to make the purchase, try em all before ya buy one. Ya might find that ya like a different motor tha a PD, or ya might confirm that a PD is the only one ya want. If it's financially possible, buy the slick hull boat instead of the jon. You will be happier in the end. Sometimes it's better to get a used mm so you afford the right boat, just an option. As far as that goes, check the classifieds, always some good boats in there.
