Post GatorHide the Good,Bad, ugly?
Anyone on here own or owned a Gatorhide blind/boat ? Looking for some feedback on what you like or dislike, etc.? Looking more on feedback on Low profile setting. Does this blind accomplish this? How do you brush yours in? Is the laydown position easy to get use too? Can you hunt sitting up? any feedback would be appreciated.

the good:
low profile, not many birds flare, very stable, carries a load very well, great for fishing / bow fishing in the off season, handles and turns very well, once you get use to hunting in this boat you will never want to go back!

the bad:
heavy, does not fit in tight spots, you have to get use to layout style hunting if you have never done it before (it doesn't take long)

i love this boat and it has opened up a whole new may of hunting for me. i have done some goose hunting in TX so i was some what prepared for it. early in the morning we prop our backrest up and make a seat out of it so you don't get buzzed by those early passes of teal. we brush it just like the video on the gatortrax website tells you to. fast grass on the rails and rafia on the inside. these boats can get pricey but it is a lifetime boat and all the dealings i have had with gatortrax has been topnotch!

the good:
Drafts shallow. Able to pull up anywhere and hunt. I used fast grass sheets zip tied to the sides. Throw a little natural vegetation around it and blends in nice. I have not used the instagrass hanks. Very stable boat. Length of spud poles would depend on where you hunt. 8' poles that are standard are to long for areas I hunt. Drop in decks are nice for fishing. I had a built in thru hull 4000lb winch installed, highly recommend this. Heaters work nice in this boat.
the bad:
It is a wet ride. At WOT hitting oncoming chop or boat waves creates a spray that comes over the front of the boat. If you ride on a rough lake you will be soaked. Heavy boat. Dry dock this boat and you will need an army or a good winch. Lay out style limits your hunting visibility. If the birds flew only in front of you there would be no problem. Adds a degree of difficulty of keeping an eye on the birds that swing behind you or come from that direction. Good thing is if you dont see them they probably dont see you. I have had them fly 3' over the boat could have caught them with a fishing net and never missed a beat. It is unbelievable the concealment this boat offers. For some the 62" bottom would be a problem, it requires some stick time. I think it handles fine for a wide boat.
With all said, I am about as satisfied with this boat as a person could be. With what disadvantages it has the advantages of this thing outweigh them.
