How many amps will a 1 million candle light handheld spotlight draw on 12V plug? Looking at installing an electrical distribution switch panel with breakers and want to be sure my breaker is big enough. Thanks in advance. |

Divide the wattage of your device by the voltage of your system to calculate the amperage draw. (Watts/voltage=amperage). For example: a 55 watt light would draw a little over 4.5 amps on a 12 volt circuit. (55/12=4.583) |

Ok if you use Ohm's law (w=E/I) 1000000/12v=83333.00 amps!? I would say 15 amps is good enough---look at it like this I have seen many people out coyote hunting running a 1000000 candle power spotlight with a 12v cigg. lighter it is usually fused at 15 amps. Hope this helps |

I am going to go with a switch panel with (6) 10amp circuits. |
