Converting PD Twist Throttle to Squeeze?
Not real happy with the twist throttle design, I make some pretty long runs and the trial run yesterday was a fair amount of work. Now the twist grip was sliding some on the shaft, I think I got that fixed. Also added some shims to hopefully cinch things up just a little so that it wasn't quite so touchy.
I did some research last night and didn't really find what I was looking for. Anyone figgered out a good way to change this control?

Re: Converting PD Twist Throttle to Squeeze?
I changed out mine, I ordered the BPS stainless throttle lever from mud buddy. I took all the guts out of my pd handle (rod and rubber bushings) then I had a 20" peice of aluminum round stock machined 12" at 3/4, then 1 1/2" at 1 1/8 (i think), and then 6 1/2" at 7/8. The 3/4 part slides into the tube, the 1 1/8 fits into where the rubber bushing was, and the 7/8 sticks out for your throttle and hand grip. I put locktite on it when I put it in to hold it in and still be removeable, I also thought about drilling through the 1 1/8 part and putting a 1/4 bolt or welding it in. Before you have one made double check these measurements.

Re: Converting PD Twist Throttle to Squeeze?
I wouldn't mind seeing it installed myself, do you like it being a squeeze grip more than a twist?

Re: Converting PD Twist Throttle to Squeeze?
Ran again today after adding shims to the tolerance stack and cinching down some. Glued the twist grip to the throttle rod. Much better now. Gonna keep it this way for a while.
