Post gas tank placement and speed
I searched around and couldnt really find anything on this subject, but does anyone have speed figures on the difference between having the gas tank in the rear or front of the boat? I have a 14 x44 with a 25 gdlt on it. I have always had the tank in the rear, and am now getting gps speeds of 22mph @4000rpm. Im just trying to see before i buy more fuel line. Got a 6 gal tank

it will run flatter and maybe a lil faster, it definetly won't hurt anything.

It can never hurt, go for the front, that's where 90% of us put them.

Post Re: gas tank placement and speed
I have my tank placed in the front of my boat and it helps distribute the load a little better. However, when I hunt 3 people and one sits near the front, the front of the boat gets buried more and I loose speed. In your case, I would guess that the boat should run flatter if you are by yourself and you'll be able to sit a second person a little further back.

Overall, it won't hurt anything, just make sure your fuel pump can supply enough fuel to your engine and if it can't add a facet cube pump, they work great.

I have myne in the mid section of the boat. It seems to run the best there, but my boat battery is in the front of the boat.
