Its up to you but its one of those things that if its needed, its needed quickly. I mounted mine on the back side of the seat pod close to the side where its out of the way but handy.

 Re: Fire Extinguisher/ Prodrive?
I have to agree with Shadow... I've never seen a Extinguisher mounted directly to the Pro-Drive. I would guess, that you could strap a small one to the handle. Use some SS Hose Clamps.
Put a Picture once you get it installed.

One in the back next to the battery, one under the deck extension at the bow opposite the fuel tank. Odds are, if I need one, I'll be scrambling away from one, but headed towards the other.

Gun Box and I think you should always have one regardless to what type of MM you have.

 Re: Fire Extinguisher/ Prodrive?
I mounted one on top of the battery box. My 18 gal. built in gas tank is in the front, so I am hoping tha tis where the fire would be, but Murphy's law might have something to say about that.
Brooks, in my earlier days of running with the trappers, I have seen several mudboats catch on fire. But that was with people that burn alot of marsh, and defintely alcohol was involved. Having said that, with all the new surface drives, people seem to be running with any where from 6 gal to 20 gallon tanks whether they are removable or built in. Mix a small gas leak with an electrical short and you have problems.

 Re: Fire Extinguisher/ Prodrive?
Yeah .... I understands 'bout electric and fuel ...... but when the fuel tank ignites .... I wants to be on the other end of the marsh !!!! I reckon ifin' you git a starter motor or caberator fire or sumthin' up and 'round the engine ... you can skwurt it with the extingshwisher befo it gots to bad and salvage all the other gear that way. So ..... Back to topic ....... I'm gonna mount mines close to the engine and close to mines butt ~ That way I can put a skwert on mines way by while I'm on the way to perform a Olympic style swim and or dash whitch ever is most applicable at the time !!!!!

 Re: Fire Extinguisher/ Prodrive?
Gun box is kind of inconvenient. It is hard to get to when your snowblower engine is engulfed in a ball of flame in your driveway and your boat is inside your garage and you have to race through the house, go into the garage, move the shit off the gun box, open it, grab the fire extinguisher, open the garage door, roll under it because it is going up very slowly, and race to the snowblower in the driveway to put the fire out. Might be more convenient if the fire extinguisher wasn't hidden in the gun box...I'm just sayin'...it's not like this scenario has ever happened to me.
