Motor Question? cavitation plate

 Motor Question? cavitation plate I have MB 35mini and I have the cavitation plate attached to the shaft. I have seen rigs with both the cavitation plate and without. I was wondering what is the benefits of leaving it on or taking it off.

Re: Motor Question? cavitation plate No real disadvantages in having it on unless you are in real bad vegatation. They can wad up stuff then. In mud they help keep the prop from blowing out. When running on plane they are out of the water, so no drag to worry about.

Re: Motor Question? cavitation plate those wont work the same as say the go-devil plate, they are on way more of an angle. the whale tail is just to stop water and mud from coming in the boat in reverse.
