How much power, or maybe torque is the better word, does a 23 horse motor have? I've been considering one on a 15x38 (gt rogue) but am worried I won't have enough power to throttle off of logs and stumps with a few extra people at low speeds, say 10 mph or less. I know a 23 isn't a good 3 man motor but it will work 80 % of the time for me

I've been bad stuck many times with my GTR23 and always made it home. GTR23 on a bigger boat than mine and maybe would have spent a couple nights in the woods.

Never underestimate the usefulness of the spin-around-move. You can get initial momentum that way. Its all about getting enough initial purchase with your prop and getting movement in any direction, to get you out of a jam.

I have a 23 gdlt on a 1748 and it pushes 3 guys and hunting gear about 14 mph in 2 foot of water. I have never had a problem pushing over a stump or log and I hit a BUNCH where I hunt at.

if you decide to go with the 23 I have a 23gtr that I'm willing to sell if your interested in saving a little money compared to buying a new motor. It only has 60-65 hours on it and runs great. I just really don't need a mud motor where I'm hunting and would like a little extra cash. PM me if your are interested.
