gator trax boats are tanks. they are nice but they are heavy. with the liquid cooled 29 you are adding more weight to an already heavy boats. It will push it but prolly not carry a load at all and never get any speeds out of it. with an 1848 you are better off going with a 35. It will have the torque to move whatever load you will put in that tank.

I am not a big fan of the radiator because if a branch from a tree goes through it you’re done.

If you live in the North and run backwater marshes there great if you run flooded timber not so good. My dad has one on a 1750 GT and its all it can do but I would bet it would run better on the 1848 than it does on his.

They are expensive to repair but the fuel injection is a real plus when the weather get snotty.

Outlaw, I owned a 29 Kawi Hyper and sold a couple of others when I was a MB dealer. An 1848 GT is going to be a big and heavy enough boat that it will run ok empty but will hit the wall when loaded and running that motor. The Briggs 31/21 and 35/36 engines are much better for big load.

I did enjoy the EFI in cold weather running on my Kawi, but I have run Briggs for the four seasons since and they will still run in the cold.

Kawi parts such as fuel pumps, etc., get very spendy compared with Vanguard parts.
