I am thinking about buying a 1756 weldbuilt boat with a 36pd. I will be using it mostly for bowfishing and duck hunting I will have a console and push pull steering up front so I will need power trim and don't really need reverse. But I helped my buddy build this same boat last year and I really liked it except it was a little slow and did not handle alot of weight very well. With two men it would run about 21 and three men genny ballast box ect. It would run bout 14 or 15 if u add fish it would get down around 10. I have heard y'all say that the prodrive and weldbuilt don't go togeather well because of the transome angle. Why is this? And wut do y'all think about these speeds is it slow or is it just me. And wut would y'all change about the setup I explained. Any advice would help alot Thanks

when it comes to load it has to do with the boat and motor combo.
I run an 18x60 PD hull with a 36 PD. My load is 13 halogen lights, 6500 watt gen, 19 gallon gas tank, 2 batteries, 2 ice chest, and two other people. I can run 24-25 easily. 4th person kills the performance, that is why I am have the carb and exhaust and the heads are at the machine shop.

Is that 24-25 with the mods to the motor? And this may be a stupid question but if that prodrive boat weighs over 600 pounds and the weldbuilt boat weighs like 400 how can the prodrive be faster? I don't understand can anyone explain this?

hull design plays a big part in how a hull performs. only carb and exhaust.

How does the transom angle effect the performance
