Mudbuddy=more user friendly, neutral, power trim
GoDevil=less to go wrong, no neutral, no power trim

That being said, I wish i had reverse but i can get by without it. But I dont see how these godevil owners can get by with no neutral.

Go Devil neutral is picking the prop up out of the water.

Mudbuddy make a motor like GD it's called a mini , no clutch no trim.

yeah thats what im looking at is that mini 23 im also looking at the 23 go devil i just dont really know which one to pick but it sounds like the go devil is my best choice!

Post subject:  Re: which is better go devil or mud buddy

The Mini comes with a clutch also, but it's a $300 add-on.

If it was between the mini and gdsd, I would get the gd because of the drive angle and shaft length... But that's just me.

Post subject:  Re: which is better go devil or mud buddy

i would go test drive them both but i live in virginia beach and theres no MB or GD deailers near Virginia from what i know i might be wrong.

Author:  dog walker [ Tue Mar 29, 2011 6:10 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: which is better go devil or mud buddy

Call both companies and ask about dealers. It's alot of money to drop without checking them out,it will be worth the drive.

The guy did not ask about ease of operation or anything else. I would never have a motor without trim, neutral or reverse but thats just me.

Look at what company has a better warranty and who will stand behind there product. I dont think you can go wrong with either. I have a MB but a have delt with GD as well. Drive them and decide what you like.

The mb has more options available, and I beleive if you got the 23, and added a clutch, you would be glad you did.. Even if something does go wrong with the clutch, you still will just be back with what you started with.. After a season you'll sure wish you had a clutch tho I garentee it.. It just makes things so much easier, less starting and killing the motor, and safer.. not to mention I do beleive that the mini is a bit lighter than the GDSD

Mud Buddy's faster better technology. I think you get more for your money going with a MB especially the Black Death engines.

Both go-devil surface drives, I drove had ALOT less tiller torque than the MB...never could get it to where it wasn't fighting me....The mudbuddy SD was worse than all of the longtails Ive fooled with

Post subject:  Re: which is better go devil or mud buddy

Ive owned both and if gdsd had clutch and trim BOOM thats a wrap, but because of these desires MB has a longer outdrive setup thats 32" and you still get the trim and clutch it come in a 23 or 35. something to think about

Author:  Brasso [ Sat Apr 09, 2011 10:24 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: which is better go devil or mud buddy

Mud buddies got more motors out than that, and you also have to custom order a 32" drive seeing that the standard length is 27". Mud buddy offers warranties on modded factory motors as well. I'd go with mud buddy they have a ton of power. A 45 mag or one of the black death motors will make your pants turn inside out, or just do the smart thing and go big, by buying a hd7000. That motor straight up hauls

PD

gtr, or pd.. both are better in their own ways, one does better in real thick mud, the other does better in everything else and outperforms it in everything else but speed.
