I paid a lil extra to get mine Hot Dip Galvanized and it has saved me some headache. My old longtail frame has some nice rust spots that i have had to fix but i have had it goin on 8 years and it still goin strong. X2 on the hose and oil . You never can have too much oil on your motor. |

The GDSD is available in galvanized. I kept mine coated with WD40. The GTR frame and lower unit is aluminum and the mounting bracket is galvanized. |

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like it's not a problem if you stay after it. Thanks again for letting me in on your experience. |

you can about anything in the salt, but you GOTTA clean and oil it good afterwards.. invest in a couple of big cans of cheap penetrating lube and use them you will be fine. but if you can get galv you would be better off |

The bottom of the skeg will rust, just keep it coated. Make sure you use nickel cease on the prop shaft. Makes it easier to get the prop off. |
