Garmin rhino 530. Have your buddies buy them to and you have a way to communicate. They have built in 2 way radios. |

Love it. use it for the boat, hunting and just driving in the car. I had a buddy who last his in the mountain and we went back 12 hours later and we were able to locate it under 8" of snow. They are the best thing and walmart has them on sale right now for $350 and free shipping. |

Iphone - GPS MotionX (has both quad and aerial maps(that can be downloaded to phone) $100 Garmin Etrax (good cheap unit, but I have dropped to many times) Garmin 76csx (need to load the local quads) - locks in very quick and average screen size I am liking the GPS MotionX app. Works really well when you have cell service. |

I have the garmin 565 with blue charts loaded in it, bought it for my bay boat but then I bought another bracket and power cord so I can use it in both boats just don't have a transducer in my duck boat. This thing is way more features than I know how or will every learn how to use. |

I've used an eTrex for close to 3 years now and it is an aggravating sob, but i only use it to mark locations that I want to get back to. MOST of the time I remember where I'm at and where I'm going... |

Post subject: | Re: GPS Recommendations? |
I agree, stay away from the etrex; you have to know where you're going cuz that sumbiatch is as reliable as a magic 8 ball After my experiences with this unit and my garmin road gps I am looking hard at the delormes |
