 will this rig work?
i have 14ft polar kraft and i plan on putting either a 23hp or a 27 hp mb lite on it.What do yall think about this combo. i run deep and shallow water .

How wide is the bottom, how tall are the sides and transom, is it rivited or welded?

its rivited but it has tall sides and tall transom i dont know how wide but its not skinny at all its pretty wide! i use to run a 25hp yamaha on it.

How wide is the bottom, in inches...
Ive seen people call a 42" bottom extra wide.

The boat should be big enough to float a 27, maybe even a light 35.
You may have to brace the transom stronger, and dependin on the conditions you run in a rivited boat may get beat to hell, but I belive its got the right demensions to float a 27.

Thanks for the info I plan on making the transom stronger I just have to buy the motor first and i live in Virginia so the conditions are pretty good

im runnin a 23 la mud special on a 15/54 allweld and its doing great. check out the mudbuddy 23 LA mud special, has the 6 inch longer outdrive. really gets down and isnt much heavier than the mini, and has the hd outdrive

yeah i was looking at that im just worried about speeds when i have a load in my boat! 100 decoys plus me (185) and my dad (230).

i was lucky this year almost everyday we went out it wasnt that rough but we did miss a couple days when the wind was blowing out the northeast. I only go across the bay when its not real windy and we have good numbers at the draw.
