I just redid my hull, paint steelflex etc. With the steelflex I fixed some very small hooks right at my transom. I had a GDSD 35 on my boat prior to the rebuild. I have since bought a 35 hyper and put it on the boat. I ran it for the first time today and now I can't run my boat with just me in it, it porpoises too bad. Before it always road with the nose kinda down and I had to keep as much weight to the rear as possible. Do y'all think the porpoising has to do with the different motor or with the steelflex? is the mudbuddy heavier or just distributed differently? |

The hooks kept the boat from porpoising. You said you fixed the hooks by fillin them in, so now there's no drag to stop the porpoising. On my 1644 GD I called it a performance hook. ![]() |

That's kinda what I was thinking but they looked so minor I didn't think they would make that much difference. I can't get past 1/4 throttle without it jarring my teeth or I have to trim it down so far the case drags in the water and splashes water over the transom while runnin |

add some weight to the front. i know a lot of guys who experience this will move battery storage and fuel storage to the bow to stop the porpoising. |

Most of the time, it's caused from having too much weight in the stern & not enough in the bow. You might be able to get by with just moving the gas & battery to the front. If that aint enough, you'll have to either run a fat weld bead along the bottom at the transom, add some wedges, or chip off the steel flex & get the hooks back. I know it sucks, but that's the price we pay for having a lightweight hull and a cutback transom. |

I'm gonna move some the tank and battery to the front and go run it again hope that will fix it. |

Good idea aggie! Summertime running isn't a problem I'm sure I can find a few bikinis to equal out the load. Just not sure how many bikini girls are gonna wanna ride up front in the winter lol |

Does the hull have the back end cut at a angle. Or does it have a tab. If it has a tab. Bend it down a bit |
