I've searched the threads and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I found the thread that talked about adding a light to the Tiny Tach, but I'm really looking for pictures of some ways to do this. Has anybody done this? If so, please post up some pics! |

I just wear an led headlight while running at night. That way I can see the tach or whatever else in a quick glance. |

That is how I'm curently running, but I'm trying to get away from that. I've got led lights under all of my catwalks to light up the inside of the boat. So now I don't really have a need for the headlight except to see the tach. |

I plan on adding a LED light next to the Tiny Tach eventually but here is my temporary solution. It's a flexible light from CVS Pharmacy that cost $3.99. It also has a laser which is pretty neat. |

I like having a lighted Tach to help fine tune the trim at night. Especially on these modded motors. I've tried to different ways. 1) I went to an auto parts store and bought a pack of individual 12v red led lights ( think they come 3 or 4 to a pack ). I then found the right sized drill bit to fit the LED and drilled a small hole on top the tiny tach ( just throught the plastic and really close to the front/display) and inserted the LED sealed it with black RTV and hooked it up to a switch on the tiller. It worked great for about a week or 2 then the display started to fog up and then it totally died out. Note: I used the rest of the red LEDs on my 12v plug-ins. They work in 2 ways on this installation. 1. it shows you where your plugs are in the dark and 2. it lets you know that you have power to the plug. ![]() 2) I went back to the auto parts store and bought a set of blue small stick-on LEDs ( they looked like the windshield washer sprayers on the hood of a car. I stuck those on each side the Tiny Tach and it worked great until the day I tore my motor down and lost em. |

Sheeesh! You don't have to sit there and stare at it like a bug to a porch light! Turn it on, set it at wot, and turn it off! |

you could just find a little red led strip to put above it, the red should be bright enough to read the display and wont ruin your nightvision |
