In Louisiana does anyone know of any rules and regs concerning after market exhausts on mudmotors? Specifically on WMA's. If you have any info please elaborate. Thnx |

As long as u aren't trying to gain power above what is allowed on a specific WMA, it should not be a problem. We have some restrictions oh our leased land that 36hp isthe biggest. Got a letter advising not to mod the motor in any way or risk losing the lease. No exhaust, nothing. |

I know a guy that has a lease in Hopedale and got a letter last year saying they will not allow surface drives on their land. If he had an issue with it they would refund his money and cancel the lease |

Our lease has always had HP restrictions for mud boats. It is to keep from turning the marsh into open water. 10 years ago, 24 HP was the max power u could have in the marsh. As the air cooled motors have gotten larger, our HP restriction has gone up. From 24, to 32, and now at 36. I really feel that 36 is too much if the reason is to protect the marsh, but I don't make the rules. We can run anything we want in the Lilly filled canals and open water, just not in the marsh. |
