Post subject:  How should my longtail ride?

Hey all,

Getting used to my first mudmotor, a longtail. I noticed on my second run yesterday that the prop seems to want to dig down to find bottom in deep water. How should a longtail run in open water? Should the prop/cav. plate be just below the surface or deeper? Should I start fooling with the cav. plate just yet?
The bolt in the rear of the frame to allow the prop to go down deeper in the water is all the way up, so it is as restrictive as its gonna get.

Thanks for any advice

bend that cav. plate tab down till it stops and back the bolt back to where it was, you'll need that dig if your high centered.

Thanks woodie,
So the prop should be just below the surface right? I bought the motor with the bolt all the way up so I am not sure where the sweet spot should be.

So bend the cav plate down as much as possible?

Thanks all
