Post Generator/Battery/Trolling Motor?
I have my trolling motor wired to my trolling motor plug from my battery. Works great. However when I hook up my generator to my battery to run trolling motor for extended use, no luck. Stills runs down battery. Trolling motor wire lenght has been added to but wire on wire and insulated. Maybe my crimp connectors? sholud i do wire on wire?...Bottomline generator has no effect on trolling motor power. .any advice? thanks

I assume you are talking about using a generator while bowfishing to charge your battery. Supposedly this can burn up your trolling motor. Everyone on the bowfishing boards use a converter to convert the 110 power to usable 12 volt power to run the trolling motor. I think they are made by Iota. Check out www.bowfishingcountry.com.

What we are doing now is either bringing 2 batteries and always have one plugged into the genny charging, or you can buy a converter that will run your troller strictly off the genny. I know some guys are using iota converters.

I have a Honda EU2000 and run a pigtails from genny ( DC battery charging outlet) to trolling battery and then battery to trolling motor.....Pigtails from genny attach to same battery posts as do troling motor wires......Am i still screwing Up?..I have a MinKota 50#....so i need to buy a converter and hook genny to converter then to trolling motor.........don't need the battery? ( motor has seperate battery).......My voltage from generator to Battery is 13.3 off eco and 12.4 with eco throttle on. The voltage is the same from battery to trolling motor....I have trolling motor ends under wing nut and generator pig tails hooked to the posts..........i guess I/m alright????
