What's the verdict of running a prodrive on a gd round chine boat? Does performance suck? I'm thinking of possibly making a motor change due to wanting reverse. A hull change isn't really an option either. Just wondering if it would be a mistake. I've never drove a pd either. Hoping I can talj Owen into letting me run his when he gets his stuff together since we often hnt the same shit pond. |

Your gonna love how easy it drives compared to that gd. As far as the motor on boat, it's definitely not the greatest match, but does work. My uncles friend has that setup and it seems to work. |

Guy that bought my GD hull put a 27 PD on it & said it was great.Clay's brother was running one for a while. Don't think I'd do it with a short transom tho. Sent from my Commando |

Yea you can run it when I get it all squared away. I would put a 36 on it and have someone build up the transom. |

The PDs really like a square chine boat to help get a heavy load out of the water...That being said i know people that have run PDs on a round chine boat and have no problems. I ran my 27PD when i had it on a tapered chine and it worked well enough. I think if you are looking at a 36hp it wont matter much. If wanting a 27hp might see a difference under heavy load in deep water. |

To answer your question Med, it'll work just fine. I had a 16x38 round chine with a 27 PD... It was one of my most favorite boats. |

I had to put wedges on the bottom to make it do right. But pretty sure Med has a bigger boat. I would definitely suggest spending a couple dollars and build up to tall transom. But will work just fine as is. |

it will work but not be the best boat to put a load in my cousin has a 16x48 prodrive boat with a 32... he ran good empty but with weight it was a dog... He decked the heads 55thousanths and put stainless valves now it runs like a bat out of hell... Owens motor on that boat will be a MOWSHEEN |

There's a guy in Texarkana that does good work. Just make sure they use 3/16th 5086 aluminum. They made my skeg and have done some other stuff for us. Daniel welding on New Boston rd |

Andy in Marshall does really good work. Pete is in Tyler area. Don't know which one of them is closer, but both can get you taken care of. |

Andy Woodard is in Marshall. Closest qualified guy to Texarkana that I know of. If I were you, I'd see how much extra it would be to square off bottom of the transom. Not a necessity, but would help performance. |

x2 on closing off the transom if you can come up with a good way to do it. Andy built up Zane's boat, he's done quite a bit of stuff for our boats too. |

If you could get like 3500 for ur boat, you might be better off selling it. You can get in an 18 ft custom boat without a bunch of frills for 4000-4500$ |

Willett I could probably put us on some but we'd likely both end up in jail since our 1st season just closed..lol. This is something ill do after season is over. Gonna post the gd up once season is over and then will build the transom up. I have wondered about getting the cutback closed up but didnt know if it would actually help that much or if it would be doable. |

I'm a hermit when it comes to hunting. You won't find me trying to carry big loads and ppl. My load is me and my gear..maybe another guy every once in a while. Will be rolling with a big black dog next yr...and hopefully this January . Willett i may holla at you when I get ready. Its been a while since I've been that way. |
