Post Issue is boat porpoising
Or to be exact, bouncing up and down. When I'm by myself the front of my boat porpoises like crazy. I have my gas tank up front, decoys, waders, cases of shells, and some more shit in the deck storage and still does it. I have to trim almost all the way down to run smooth. I have done everything but put sand bags in the bow, anyone got some suggestions, or would the sand be a good idea?

Put some wedges under the rear and I bet you would be good to go.

10-4, I'm new to all this, first rig so I'm still trying to figure things out. I couldn't be happier with the boat, I'm running 31 mph with me and all my gear at around 3500rpms so it's not really a big deal I'm just wanting to see how fast it will actually run.

Does it have trim tabs? Bending the trim tabs down might be all it takes.

Thats it, I want an Uncle J boat. 31mph and Jumping around like that. Sounds like fun, hit some shallow water with that biatch and see if it calms down. But tell me what your speed is when you do it. But some welded tabs on the back will do it for ya.

I can take care of the porpoising, just saying I like his speed. Being a smart ass in the process. And as far as IQ's I will take that as a compliment coming from someone that didn't see a gaurd rail in the middle of the road.

 Yeah, good one. I guess you would be expecting to see a piece of steel blocking the entire interstate at 3 in the morning... There were two other people in the truck that didn't see it. Only one other car got there before the cops blocked the road off, and they hit it too. But yeah, guess I should have been expecting it...

Getting mods done after the season, was hoping to get them for christmas, but the wife didn't get the memo. And cb, I know how hard it is to see at night, just figured it was as good of a come abck as I could use, since I don't know anyone on here very well.

Isn't the manufacture of that boat a member on here? Looks like customer service is lacking.

Shouldn't have to install wedges or trim tabs!

Ok.
In our defense, this is the first that I hear of this. Also, you will not find any add of mine advertising a 17' boat. Thus, meaning anything other than that of a 18x54 is a CUSTOM BOAT. I have a 15'6" boat, if I trim all the way up, it bounces. I Also have a 18' boat with a 60 outboard. If I trim up, it bounces.

I can only hope that the customer calls me if he has a problem with anything we have done.

Bouncing isn't that big a deal... So boats do, some don't. Bend your trim tabs down a bit, add some if you don't have them. Prolly won't have that problem after you get a few hooks in the bottom.

Yeah I'm gonna look at get some trim tabs on next week,I may and I may not, like I said, this ain't a big deal at all. I am very happy with my boat the way it is, I'm just new to these kind of boats and I just figured as many folks is on here someone has a little trick to keep it from doing it when I'm by myself.

With the above statement of an engine too powerful for a hull to handle. Wouldnt it be right to tell the customer that they should consider a larger hull? A suggestion and explanation to make a happy experience between customer and builder? I would rather a builder tell me if my CUSTOM boat would not work properly with my engine than just taking my money on a custom hull that will just be another boat to the builder.

Marcus, does your boat porpoise? It's smaller than the boat in question and has the same engine...

You can jb weld some aluminum tabs(wedges) on to try out and knock them off if you don't like them. What hole is your transom pin in?

My first Gatortail boat was a 17x52 with a 70 hp stage 3 on the back at 38 mph it still wouldn't bouncy even with my big ass in the back!! You get what you pay for now you know why it was so cheap on the market!! Top notch manufacture guaranty their boat to perform or at least gator-tail does!!

Fastest boat gt ran was a 16x54 with same motor I spoke of above ran 43mph no problem !! Enjoy !!
