Should hopefully be dropping cash on a brand new PD36 wit fpr thnx to Mudd...................have been waiting forever for MB to come out with reverse and can't wait any longer..............got stuck last time out going fpf and had to get pulled out by a guy with fpr, that was the last straw for me.....................

I had a go devil but didnt like it. I then bought a PD with fpr but after replacing seals on it twice I sold it. Ive had a MB 4000 for a little over a year and never had a major problem with it. I love the way it looked more profesionally built then my pd that looked like it was some backyard project. Well I too have gotten tired of waiting for MB to come out with a reverse so mine might be for sale here soon. Thinking GTR might be my next buy.

I have a similar story. I ran MB motors for for four seasons but switched to ProDrive to get me some full power reverse. You will like that feature a lot. You will also find ProDrive's customer service to be very good.

After some hellacious experiences at getting big, heavy boats stuck over the years, I was hesitant at first to venture into the kind of areas that would utilize the PD to it's full capacity.

My appraisal of FPR's utility was raised a big notch when I used it to chew my way through 1000 yards of very shallow water over hard mud. My boat would not go through this patch with the motor in forward drive position because the entry was tight and I couldn't hit it while up on plane. My buddy (who owns a MB) watched with mouth agape as we punched through and salvaged a great hunt.

Now I drive into places I never would before, with much more confidence. That's why I bought the motor in the first place.

i'm with you XGEN. i like my motor but the fpr (or any reverse for that matter) would be really nice to have. i would like to be able to run up into an area with no worries instead of having to think of a escape route if the run doesn't work out. my mb has served me well since i got the kinks worked out from the previous owner. i primarily have my mm because of running stumps. millwood will eat an outboard and regular jon boat. maybe one day i'll try another brand but for now i'm gonna run what i got.

Congrats on getting a new motor. I sure am going to miss hearing you and your 45 coming from across the lake in the morning, but i will still be able to pick you out with those shark eyes you have. And having talked to you a couple times i have a feeling it won't be 100% stock for long.
