I drove a gt yesterday for the first time. To say the least i was surprised on the amount of tiller torque. Is there an easy fix to this or are all gt this uncomfortable to drive??? |

Adjust the weight around in the boat... I can have my dog walking around the boat and I can feel the added resistance and pressure from the tiller. You get used to it and learn to pack the boat properly to avoid it. Took me 1 trip and I moved a cooler to one side and I sat on the other seemed to work out okay... That tiller torque tab was gone the first week I had her ![]() |

Weight distribution is the key! Move things around until you get it like you want. I find that a second person/ice chest needs to be a little left of center when running. |

I had a 16x48 with my GTR on it and it was fine after mods it pulled hard, installed a torque tab and it resolved the issue. Now I have the same motor on 17x54 and no torque at all now even without the tab.If I pile all the stuff on one side of the boat yes it will have noticable tiller torque. |

You really don't want to bend your skeg if you dont have to. Adusting weight in the boat like mentioned before is a key factor. Also I found raising my seat higher helps. You arm is in an okward position when it's up at an angle once you rais you seat up enough to to were your arm is straight up it's like night and day. |

when you guys say tiller torque, does that mean the motor is pulling to one side and if you have to hold pressure on the tiller handle to keep her true? |

I have a tork tab the same size of my skeg and it drives great. On my old boat had no tork at all guess the extra hp got me. You can drive it with just a finger on the trottle. |

DDM it's Torque not Tork. LOL I have one the whole heght of my skeg and it will still torque if the load is not positioned correctly. You just have to either deal with it on an awkward load or adjust it to where it minimizes the amount of pushing. |
