Got info today that the MB folks were down in south Louisiana giving the new Sport models a test run. It was kept very low key, just wondering if anyone knew how the thing did in heavy grass and lillies.

Finally getting a real good pic of it, it will likely be the fastest. The cone clutch hoopla will be tested in the lillies in south LA this fall, if they are available. The lillies around our camp are as bad as I have seen them and they have a month and a half left to grow.

He should've stopped on top of the mud flat, then did his reverse/forward/reverse/forward thing...that would've been better than him just playing in water :|

Boy with the extensive r&d and years of testing this thing, you would think they could figure out how to drive this thing a lil better. Looks like a buncha newbies trying to figure out what to do!

I don't think GF has had a lot of experience running in mud like that. One of the camera guys never runs the coast. You don't drive up on a mud flat and stop in most parts of the country...unless you want to get a pull or your feet muddy.
With the right hand on the tiller that should be a nice motor.
I'm definitely NOT the right hand cause that kinda mud is fairly new to me...but I am starting to catch on.

I ain't knocking it. Just saying I'd be more impressed it they were trying to break it, no pussy footing it in some cattails, alittle mud and destroying a prop in some sand and rocks. Have yet so see it run in a stump field. I wanna see that lower unit take some abuse. Give it to me for a while and it will either come back in pieces or get a thumbs up.

Where do you hunt?

The old style Gator Trax angled transom looks like it would help vs. the straight transom on that boat. Looks like he's pushing mud like a bull dozer.

The cut back helps reverse, but hurts some forward performance.
